The ‘water -resistant’ iPhone 7’s warranty will not cover liquid damage!
Even though the phone is certified to sustain complete submersions in water, Apple will apparently not entertain warranty complaints pertaining to water damage. The company’s disclaimer reads “Liquid damage [is] not covered under warranty.”
This basically means that should the water accidentally get through your phone’s innards for no fault of yours, you will not get it repaired or serviced for free under warranty.
This wouldn’t be such a headline worthy news if Apple didn’t mention water resistance as one of the new features of the iPhone 7 duo. A lot remains to be seen on this matter, but if you are planning to get your hands on one of these phones, we suggest you refrain from testing out its water resistance in the midst of your friends and family.
